Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) is an independent social organization that started its activities in 1948 and was officially registered on July 9, 1949. As a Non-Government Organisation (NGO) under the Societies Registration Act 1860, ABVP focuses on bringing about positive and meaningful changes in education and the mindset of students, teachers, and society. ABVP is not affiliated with any political party or trade union.

Its main objective is to empower students and recognize their role as active citizens in transforming society. Over the course of 72 years, ABVP has evolved into the world's largest student organization, operating primarily on college and university campuses. However, it also extends its reach to various peripheral areas through different dimensions of work such as Students for Development, Think India, and Students' Experience in Interstate Living (SEIL).
