Akademiya is an independent antiquarian bookshop and online bookstore based in St Petersburg, bringing together books from past decades and recent publications. Its shelves include bibliographic rarities and titles that can be difficult to find in contemporary bookshops. Customers can browse books on art, fiction, children’s literature, humanities, science and popular science, as well as foreign-language books, journals, poetry, graphic novels, comics, manga and more. The shop also offers postcards, stationery, gifts and souvenirs.

Akademiya serves readers both online and at its physical shop on Liteyny Prospekt, where visitors can explore the collection, relax at a table, enjoy coffee and talk with its booksellers. The store delivers books throughout Russia and provides services including searches for books on request, acceptance of books from the public, gift certificates and a book club. Its approach reflects a particular care for each book’s history and condition, and for helping books find new readers. From well-loved editions to rare discoveries, Akademiya invites visitors to explore the unexpected world of used books.
