The Académie de sabre laser de La Rochelle et du Pays d’Aunis is a sports association in the La Rochelle area dedicated to promoting sporting and artistic combat with the lightsaber. Its practice draws on real martial arts and combat sports, adapting their techniques through rules inspired by the lightsaber concept. The academy emphasizes that its classes do not teach participants to imitate film battles or characters, and that its connection to the Star Wars universe is decorative only; it is not affiliated with or endorsed by Disney or Lucasfilm.

The association offers lightsaber fencing sessions for beginners and more experienced participants. In the 2022–2023 season, classes were held on Fridays at the gymnasium in Les Quatre Chevaliers, in La Jarne, with separate times for beginner and confirmed groups. The academy also provides information about the practice, equipment and protective gear, and acquiring a lightsaber. Prospective members can contact the association by email or through its Facebook page for registration and further details.
