Académie SGS is a martial arts school in Sherbrooke, Quebec, founded in 2006 by head coach David Côté. With more than 21 years of experience as an instructor, Côté leads a team focused on helping students learn, improve and pursue their goals in a welcoming, respectful environment. The academy adapts its teaching to students rather than expecting everyone to learn in the same way, and offers clear, step-by-step instruction for beginners alongside training for more experienced practitioners.
Programs cover Muay Thai, kickboxing, English boxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, wrestling and mixed martial arts. Students can train for enjoyment, fitness, personal development or competition, with personalized classes and attentive guidance. The academy also offers parent-and-child sessions and hosts seminars, including Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu events. Its broader involvement in martial arts includes organizing 10 successful mixed martial arts galas. Drawing on Côté’s training experiences in Thailand and Brazil, Académie SGS brings together striking, grappling and combat sports in a community built around mutual support and steady progress.
