ACAO, the African Canadian Association of Ottawa, is an umbrella organization for ACB (African, Caribbean, and Black) country associations in Ottawa. Established in 2016, ACAO aims to unite people of African descent in the Ottawa region and promote unity in diversity. They showcase the rich cultural values of the African community and serve as a forum for discussions on issues affecting the community.

ACAO is committed to helping newcomers integrate into Canada and celebrate Afro-Caribbean and Canadian heritage, passing it on to future generations. ACAO has organized successful multiculturalism events, with the first joint event in 2016 attracting over 300 participants from countries such as Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Burundi, Ghana, and Congo DR. The event featured captivating performances by dancers and drummers from various African countries, as well as delicious food prepared by community members.
