About Acbb Judo
L’ACBB Judo & D.A. is the martial arts section of Athletic Club de Boulogne-Billancourt, a major French multisport club. Founded in 1956, its judo program serves around 1,000 members, from children starting at age three to recreational participants and high-performance athletes. Training takes place across four dojos, combining martial arts instruction with opportunities for elite competition.
Alongside judo, the section offers jujitsu, taïso, kendo, aikido and naginata. These programs include physical conditioning, self-defense, weapons-based practice and traditional Japanese martial arts, with an emphasis on technique, discipline and personal development. The club welcomes participants of all backgrounds and experience levels.
ACBB Judo has a longstanding competitive history, including Jean-Luc Rougé’s 1975 world title, which the club describes as the first world title won by a French club. Its current high-level athletes include Olympic medalist Sarah-Léonie Cysique and international medalist Romain Valadier-Picard. For the 2028 Olympic cycle, the section aims to qualify at least two athletes for the Los Angeles Games and win an individual gold medal.
