About ACBLPE
The Association of Portuguese- and Spanish-based Creoles (ACBLPE) is a scientific and cultural organization devoted to the study of Iberian-lexifier creole languages and the communities connected with them. It provides a platform for researchers, members and others interested in these languages to learn about the association’s work, explore resources and engage with its members. ACBLPE organizes annual scientific meetings focused on creole languages, with information available about past and upcoming events.
Its official publication is the Journal of Portuguese- and Spanish-based Creoles, which offers a dedicated outlet for work in this field. The association also runs a consultation service where visitors can submit questions about Portuguese- or Spanish-based creole languages to its members. Those interested in joining may send an application proposal to the association’s board, which may request further information.
The website presents news, meeting details and resources in multiple languages, including Portuguese, Spanish, English and French. ACBLPE is associated with the Faculty of Arts of the University of Lisbon
