The Association of Christian Counsellors (ACC) is a professional body established in 1992 with the aim of promoting quality counselling, psychotherapy, pastoral care, and related training. As the only Christian UK-wide counselling organization holding an Accredited Register with the Professional Standards Authority, the ACC is committed to upholding the highest standards in the field. They offer membership to individual counsellors, psychotherapists, as well as organizations, agencies, and Churches involved in counselling/psychotherapy or related activities.
Individual counsellor membership is open to those employed by counselling/psychotherapy agencies. For those looking to find a Christian counsellor, the ACC provides a search feature that allows individuals to find a qualified counsellor or psychotherapist. Additionally, the ACC offers guidance on what counselling is and why one should choose an ACC counsellor.
Membership with the ACC provides access to a range of benefits, including professional development opportunities, practice guidelines and forms, and access to the ACC Accredited Register. The ACC also offers pastoral care services, resources, and publications for those involved in providing care within a Christian context
