Accaama

The Association Culturelle Cherbourgeoise d’Aïkido et d’Arts Martiaux (ACCAAMa) is a historic martial arts club in Cherbourg-en-Cotentin, founded in 1986. It offers instruction in Aïkido, Iaïdo and Taï Chi Chuan, welcoming women, men and children aged 10 and over. The club is affiliated with the French Federation of Aïkido and Budo and the European Iaï Federation.

Aïkido classes take place on weekday evenings at the Pôle Dojo Danse de Chantereyne and Dojo Nordez, with a Saturday open practice at Chantereyne for members with at least three months’ experience. Iaïdo is taught on Tuesday afternoons at Dojo Nordez, while Taï Chi Chuan classes are held on Thursday evenings and Friday afternoons at Chantereyne. The club provides annual membership options for individual disciplines and combined activities, with fees that include the relevant federation licence. Registration is open throughout the year, and prospective members can try a class for free. ACCAAMa’s activities bring together regular training, martial arts practice and a welcoming community setting.
