**Brand Description for Accent Bias in Britain**
Accent Bias in Britain is a pioneering research initiative focused on understanding the impact of accent prejudice in the UK. With a commitment to addressing unconscious biases in professional settings, the project delves into how accents — often the most visible markers of social and ethnic identity — affect employment opportunities and life outcomes for individuals. The project’s primary goals include identifying the presence of accent bias in hiring practices, exploring its causes and effects, and developing evidence-based tools and training to combat discrimination.
The research combines sociolinguistics, social psychology, and labor market economics, supported by comprehensive national surveys and analyses. It extends its findings to key stakeholders including policymakers, recruiters, and job seekers through practical resources such as research reports, interactive data visualizations, and training programs. By raising awareness and providing actionable solutions, Accent Bias in Britain aspires to foster a more equitable and inclusive professional landscape in the UK.
