Accessible Dictionary is a project developed by YPSA ICT and Resource Center on Disability (IRCD), supported by the Access to Information Program (a2i) from the Prime Minister's Office in Bangladesh. The initiative aims to address the lack of accessible study materials for visually impaired individuals and the large illiterate population in the country. By converting three Bangla Academy Dictionaries into accessible formats (Bengali to English, English to Bengali, Bengali to Bengali), Accessible Dictionary provides online and offline access for all learners, including those with visual and print disabilities, learning disabilities, and other information-disadvantaged groups.
The project involves the active participation of persons with disabilities in planning and implementation, ensuring that the dictionary meets their specific needs. Accessible Dictionary is a cost-effective, time-saving, and universally designed resource, enabling easy access to valuable reading materials across Bangladesh
