About ACCID
ACCID (Associació Catalana de Comptabilitat i Direcció) is a professional association based in Catalonia that aims to provide information and support related to accounting and management. They recently organized an online conference in collaboration with the Col·legi d'Economistes de Catalunya, featuring economist Ramon Bastida as a speaker. The conference focused on the new European Sustainability Information Standards (NEIS) that will be applicable to businesses across Europe starting from January 2024.
The NEIS aim to harmonize sustainability reporting and require companies to include comprehensive information on environmental, social, and governance aspects in a dedicated section of their management reports. One of the key principles of the NEIS is the concept of double materiality, distinguishing between financial materiality (related to financial performance and value creation) and impact materiality (related to social and environmental impacts of the company). ACCID provides resources, such as courses, videos, and practical guides, to help businesses understand and implement the NEIS effectively
