Accountability International is an African-led civil society organization dedicated to improving accountability for the lives, human rights, and wellbeing of all individuals. Based in South Africa, we conduct research and advocacy to hold leaders accountable and serve as a watchdog for marginalized communities. Our projects are designed in collaboration with these communities, prioritizing needs-based research and community-led advocacy.

With a focus on accessibility, we offer technical advice and develop scorecards to demand accountability from leaders at global, regional, national, and community levels. Through the Participatory Action Research (PAR) model, we involve communities in all aspects of the research process, from methodology development to final analysis. Building partnerships is crucial to our work, and we have cultivated strong relationships with various organizations.
