About Arkansas United Methodist Conference
The Arkansas United Methodist Conference is a vibrant organization that coordinates and supports nearly 600 United Methodist churches and ministries throughout Arkansas. With the goal of making disciples of Jesus Christ, the Conference is led by Bishop Laura Merrill and divided into five districts, each headed by a Chief Mission Strategist. Together, they focus on developing principled Christian leaders, establishing new congregations, engaging in ministry with the poor, and improving global health.
With a rich history spanning over 200 years, the Conference has evolved from six different Annual Conferences to become the unified Arkansas Conference we know today. As part of the global United Methodist Church, the Conference is connected to over 12 million members worldwide, all sharing the commitment to spread God's love through worship, prayer, service, and the study of scripture.
