About ACDRA
Australian Cattle Dog Rescue Association (ACDRA) is a dedicated nonprofit organization committed to rescuing and rehoming Australian Cattle Dogs (ACDs) in need. Founded by passionate advocates of the breed, ACDRA serves as a vital resource for ACDs, promoting their welfare and helping facilitate adoptions nationwide.
The Australian Cattle Dog, often referred to as Blue Heelers or Queensland Heelers, was developed in Australia for cattle droving, possessing an innate endurance and intelligence that makes them exceptional working dogs. Known for their muscular build, the breed typically showcases a dense double coat in blue, mottled, or speckled patterns.
ACDRA offers a variety of services, including adoption applications, fostering opportunities, and resources for pet-friendly housing. They are deeply involved in fundraising initiatives, the Buddy Fund, and community outreach to support the rehoming process. Their mission emphasizes education on living with and caring for ACDs, ensuring that these remarkable dogs find loving forever homes.
