ACD Tas, formally the Association for Children with Disability (Tasmania) Inc., is a peer-led, not-for-profit organisation specialising in support for families of children and young people with disability. Established in 1998 by parents seeking professional, statewide family advocacy, it now serves families across Tasmania. Its independent services include information and training, advocacy, peer support, consultancy, and case coordination, including NDIS Support Coordination.
ACD Tas works with families and children and young people with disability through professional staff, many of whom bring lived experience as family peers. The organisation has regional offices in Devonport, Launceston, and Hobart, as well as home offices across the state. Its approach is strength-based and treats families as equal partners, helping them pursue goals they define for their children and family.
