ACESO — Community Gender Action is a nonprofit based in Mbale, Uganda, dedicated to promoting, protecting, and advocating for the rights and wellbeing of girls and women in Uganda. Our primary mission is to eradicate period poverty. With our trained clinical staff, we educate women and girls on proper menstrual hygiene, guide them in creating reusable and sustainable menstrual hygiene products, and actively work to reduce menstruation stigma within the community. As we've grown, our impact has expanded to address gender inequity through a holistic, community-based approach. Our comprehensive programs focus on economic empowerment, mental health, climate action, education, and healthcare.
