About ACFS Community Education
ACFS (African Children's Feeding Scheme) has been actively saving children from malnutrition for almost 77 years. Established in 1945, ACFS is a registered Non-Profit Organization (NPO No. 001-213) and Public Beneficiary Organization (PBO no.
930000475). The organization started with the original peanut butter sandwich and milk feeding scheme, which remains a fundamental part of their flagship feeding project. ACFS has expanded over the years, now operating 9 community centers in areas like Soweto, Alexandra, Kagiso, Tsakane, and Bothaville Freestate.
These centers provide nutritious meals to pre-schoolers and school children at risk. Additionally, ACFS has a bakery in Jabavu that bakes fresh bread and rolls daily, sold to the community. The organization focuses on holistic programs, early childhood development, vocational training, and community support services.
