About AC Gilbert
Gilbert House Children's Museum is an inspiring place that aims to ignite enthusiasm for lifelong learning in children through creative play. Founded in 1989 and named after the exceptional Salem native, A. C.
Gilbert, this private nonprofit museum offers innovative and stimulating educational experiences that tap into children's natural curiosity. The museum boasts 20 hands-on exhibits, including the iconic giant outdoor Erector Set in the 20,000 ft² Outdoor Discovery Area. Children can also enjoy camps, field trips, and membership opportunities, allowing for immersive and engaging learning experiences.
The museum is committed to diversity and ensuring an inclusive and welcoming environment for all. Admission to the museum is free for members, while general admission is $14. Seniors (60+) and military personnel can enjoy discounted admission at $12, and infants under 1 year of age enter for free.
