The American Cutting Horse Association (ACHA) is an organization dedicated to promoting cutting horse contests and encouraging broad participation in the sport. It invites individuals, families, companies, and groups to take part in breeding, training, and exhibiting cutting horses in the contest arena. To support fair, organized competition, ACHA establishes rules of conduct for contests and maintains records of completed events. Its membership brings together people with diverse talents and backgrounds, with an emphasis on grassroots involvement.

The association provides information and resources for members, competitors, judges, and show organizers. These include membership and application forms, a rule book, show schedules and applications, earnings and standings, and videoing procedures. ACHA also recognizes achievement through year-end awards, high-point standings, and Open, Non Pro, Horse, Youth, and Member Hall of Fame programs. Youth resources include news, a scholarship program, and events such as the McDonald’s Shootout. The organization shares sponsor information and upcoming event details, with shows listed at venues in Texas.
