Achilles Amateur Athletics Association is the oldest athletics club in Port Elizabeth, serving the community since 1936. Based at Walmer Golf Club in Walmer, Gqeberha, the club welcomes runners of all ages and experience levels, from casual participants to more serious athletes, across a range of running disciplines. Its weekly programme includes road and trail club runs, as well as longer Sunday training sessions.
Tuesday runs begin at 17:30 and cover 5 km or 8 km; Thursday runs start at 17:30 and cover 6 km or 9 km on road and trail; Sunday training starts at 07:00, with distances of 15–30 km on road. Runs meet in the Walmer Golf Club parking area. Members can also access the venue’s bar, restaurant, changing rooms and showers.
