About Africa Centre For Holistic Management
The Africa Centre for Holistic Management (ACHM) is a Zimbabwean-registered social welfare organization affiliated with the Savory Institute. Founded in 1992 by Allan Savory and Jody Butterfield, ACHM aims to disseminate Holistic Management in Africa through innovative training and outreach programs. They operate a practical learning site, the Dimbangombe Conservancy near Victoria Falls, which serves as evidence of the successful restoration of land, water, and wildlife using livestock.
ACHM offers a range of products and services, including tours, training programs, and volunteer opportunities. Their training programs focus on Holistic Land and Livestock Management, tailored to meet the specific needs of subsistence farmers living and grazing on communal lands. They also provide Holistic Management training to commercial land managers in the region who want to regenerate their farming, ranching, and game management operations.
ACHM has received international recognition for its work, including winning the Buckminster Fuller Challenge in 2010 and receiving the Humanitarian Water & Food Award in 2014. Their efforts have also been named one of the 15 Outstanding Practices in Agroecology by the World Future Council in 2019. By supporting ACHM, you can contribute to changing the livelihoods of communities and wildlife in Southern Africa and beyond
