Cooperativas de las Américas is the regional representation of the Alliance for the Americas. Their main objective is to promote the repositioning of the cooperative model in the new economic, political, social, and commercial environment, by supporting member organizations in the Americas in disseminating and defending cooperative identity, promoting businesses, and developing human resources. As the regional office, they serve as a link between cooperatives in the Americas and the global network, enabling their participation in specialized networks and involvement in their sector of interest.

Cooperativas de las Américas plays a key role in implementing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. They contribute to sustainable economic growth and provide stable and quality employment through the three million cooperatives in the Americas. The organization also collaborates with international partners on various projects, such as the Casa de la Alegría project in Costa Rica, which aims to improve living conditions and provide decent employment in agriculture for migrant families. Additionally, they have established the Cooperatives of the Americas Platform for Development (PCAD) to facilitate collaboration among organizations involved in international cooperation projects.

For the 2022 edition of the World Cooperative Monitor, the Americas region has 91 cooperative organizations among the world's top 300 based on their revenue, with the majority from the United States, Brazil, Canada, and Argentina. These organizations have generated over 434,000 jobs, making a significant impact on the economies of their respective countries. Cooperativas de las Américas is dedicated to advancing the cooperative movement and supporting its members throughout the region.
