ACIPC, the Australasian College for Infection Prevention and Control, is the leading authority for infection prevention and control professionals in the region. Comprised of nurses, aged care workers, scientists, educators, and policymakers, our members are dedicated to promoting a healthy community through leadership, education, and evidence-based practice. While the COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of infection prevention and control, our focus extends beyond the current crisis.
ACIPC addresses ongoing challenges such as hospital-acquired infections and antibiotic resistance. We support our members and the wider community through various activities, including education, advocacy, collaboration, research, and credentialing pathways. Founded in 2012, ACIPC amalgamated state and territory control associations to foster collaboration and encourage a sustainable organization.
Governed by a board of directors, chaired by the president, we operate as a registered charity with a head office located in Hobart, Tasmania. With a commitment to empowering our members, ACIPC strives to be at the forefront of infection prevention and control
