As a company registered in Dublin, Ireland, ACJRD aims to inform the collaborative development of evidence-based policy and practice in criminal justice. By providing a forum for experienced professionals to discuss ways of working and promoting study and research in the field, ACJRD strives to uphold the highest standards of practice.

Through informal discussion and opening channels of communication, ACJRD improves cooperation between different parts of the criminal justice system. Supported by the Department of Justice, Irish Prison Service, The Probation Service, and the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration, and Youth (DCEDIY), ACJRD works towards its objectives of promoting mutual understanding and finding insights into shared problems. To encourage openness and information sharing, the Chatham House Rule applies to certain ACJRD events.
