ACMA ETS, the Alliance Against Limb Malformations, is an Italian nonprofit founded in 2018 to support children with limb malformations and the families who care for them. The organization works to ensure that no family has to navigate diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation alone. Its support includes financial contributions toward medical procedures, therapies and travel, as well as guidance in finding specialists, hospitals and appropriate care pathways. ACMA also offers a listening service where parents and relatives can connect with others who have faced similar challenges, and builds a community of families, professionals and volunteers.
Beyond direct family support, ACMA promotes inclusion and accurate information about limb malformations. It works with schools and educators to encourage welcoming, accessible environments, supports scientific research and organizes events, meetings and summer camps that help families form connections. The association funds its work through donations, including Italy’s 5x1000 tax allocation. ACMA reports using these contributions to assist children with treatment, surgery, physiotherapy and rehabilitation, and to extend support to additional families.
