About ACME Africa
ACME Uganda, also known as the African Centre for Media Excellence, is an organization dedicated to inspiring excellent journalism across Africa. Their mission is to advocate for press freedom, provide training and support for journalists at various stages of their careers, and promote media literacy and media relations. ACME offers a range of programs including advocacy, continuing and mid-career training, and media monitoring and research.
They are also known for their Uganda National Journalism Awards, which recognize and celebrate outstanding journalism in the country. ACME conducts research and publishes reports on various topics, including freedom of expression violations. With a commitment to upholding journalistic standards, ACME plays a vital role in promoting a free and responsible media environment in Uganda and across the continent
