About Acompaña
Fundación Acompaña is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting people who have lost a loved one, helping them regain peace, hope, and a sense of purpose. Guided by the belief that grief is a human experience requiring time, patience, and understanding, the foundation offers compassionate accompaniment and practical resources for people navigating loss.
Its services include free support through WhatsApp, online courses, workshops, and educational materials such as a complimentary e-book on the grieving process. Courses address subjects including grief after suicide, emotional management, attachment, preparing for loss, and supporting bereaved children. The organization also provides volunteer training through its DiCDA program, equipping participants with tools to accompany others and promote a culture of grief awareness.
Fundación Acompaña’s volunteer community has supported more than 25,000 people in person and over 2,000 online across 21 countries, representing more than one million hours of accompaniment. It also publishes the Manual para PEBRES, a resource for people drawing on lived experience to develop their ability to support others through bereavement.
