ACPELIA is a dynamic and engaging non-governmental organization (NGO) based in Cyprus. Our main focus is on youth programs, particularly those within the ERASMUS Plus initiative. With a team of specialized youth workers and trainers, we tackle important issues such as environmental problems, discrimination, equal opportunities, and more. Our aim is to create a platform where young people can actively participate in programs related to entrepreneurship, discrimination, disabilities, and other relevant themes.

Founded in 2019, ACPELIA is a part of the European Programs of Cultural Association NOSTOS Pissouriou. Our organization operates in the rural areas of Cyprus and collaborates closely with community councils. We are committed to the rescue, preservation, and transmission of cultural heritage, environmental sustainability, social entrepreneurship, social inclusion, and the elimination of discrimination and racism.

To achieve these goals, we organize a range of cultural, educational, and interactive activities for youth. These activities encompass diverse areas such as dancing, theater, educational games, and more. By utilizing non-formal education methods, we empower young people to learn about critical issues affecting humanity.

As a volunteer organization, ACPELIA relies on the dedication and enthusiasm of its members. While we do not have paid staff, we enter into independent contracts with suitable youth workers, trainers, and project managers for approved projects. With over 50 dedicated individuals ready to contribute their expertise, we actively participate in various Erasmus Plus Programs. Our involvement includes acting as an applicant organization, partner organization, and co-beneficiary organization, depending on the project's objectives and needs.

Our name, ACPELIA, is inspired by the ancient name for Cyprus, "Aspelia," mentioned by the Latin writer Pliny. We changed the letter "s" to a "c" to better align with our organization's objectives. ACPELIA stands for Active Cypriot Programs and European Learning Into Acceptance.

Our logo serves as a symbol of our civilization, history, mythology, and Greek and European culture. It features two olive branches, representing the flag of Cyprus and peace, as well as the olive wreaths awarded to Olympic champions. The bronze talent in the center pays homage to Cyprus' historical association with bronze. The logo also incorporates seven stars, symbolizing the European Union, and a Centaur wearing a Greek helmet and holding a trident, signifying our Erasmus plus journeys throughout Europe.
