About ACPR Charity Campaign
The Royal is one of Canada’s leading mental health care institutions, renowned for its comprehensive approach to treatment, research, and education. Located in Ottawa, The Royal is dedicated to assisting individuals aged 16 and older who struggle with complex and persistent mental illnesses and addictions. Emphasizing accessibility, The Royal adopts a "hospital without walls" philosophy, providing mental health support in various community settings, such as long-term care homes and shelters.
Through specialized programs, The Royal combines advocacy and research to facilitate faster recovery for those dealing with treatment-resistant conditions. Addressing mental health needs across eastern Ontario and beyond, it collaborates with various community partners to ensure individuals receive the support they require.
Recent initiatives, such as the "Shatter the Silence" campaign led by Algonquin College’s Public Relations program, further underscore The Royal’s commitment to raising awareness and reducing stigma associated with mental health. Since 1986, this program has been driven to fundraise and advocate for mental health, reflecting The Royal's core mission.
