ACQUAMARINA TEAM TRIESTE

Acquamarina Team Trieste ASD APS is a nonprofit amateur sports association based in Trieste, founded in 2011 to help people with disabilities participate in sport and social life. Its work promotes physical and psychological well-being, autonomy, inclusion, and social connection through sporting and community activities. The association offers competitive and recreational swimming, with athletes taking part in regional and national events through Italian paralympic, intellectual-disability sport, and Special Olympics circuits.

Its “La Magia dell’Acqua” project provides swimming activities for children and young people on the autism spectrum, supported by trained instructors and educators. The association also runs a bocce section, where members train and compete in regional and national events, as well as social tournaments. Its wider projects include community support initiatives, such as providing hot meals for people experiencing homelessness.

Acquamarina Team Trieste’s activities are delivered by staff and volunteers, with training taking place at local facilities in Trieste. The organization welcomes support through donations and Italy’s five-per-thousand tax designation
