About ACS Women Chemists Committee
Brand Description: Empowering women throughout the chemical enterprise, the Women Chemists Committee (WCC) of the American Chemical Society (ACS) has been championing for women in chemistry since its establishment in 1927. Originally known as the Women's Service Committee, the WCC encourages women chemists to take an active interest in Society activities. Serving as a forum for women in chemistry and related professions, the Committee aims to increase and improve women's participation in the chemical sciences and the Society.
With a mission of engagement, advancement, and advocacy for women, the WCC is dedicated to achieving equal representation and influence in the chemistry enterprise. The Committee's goals include engaging and empowering women chemists, recognizing and awarding their contributions, advocating for their rights, and promoting awareness about women's achievements in the field. Through programs, events, resources, and enhanced career development initiatives, the WCC supports women chemists and fosters their professional growth
