However, a recent cyber security incident has led to the exposure of personal and health information of approximately 12.9 million individuals, including data related to prescriptions processed through MediSecure up until November 2023.

As a result of the incident, the Australian Government has shifted the national prescription delivery service to Fred IT Group's eRx Script Exchange, which remains unaffected by the cyber breach. Despite the challenges posed by this incident, consumers can continue to access their medications and healthcare providers can prescribe as usual. MediSecure remains committed to transparency and has publicly addressed the situation, emphasizing the vital importance of safeguarding consumer data in the digital age.
