About Activatica
Activatica is an independent Russian-language media outlet dedicated to uncovering the truths surrounding resistance to war, dictatorship, and repression. Established in 2014 by a team of journalists and civil activists, including notable eco-activist Yevgeniya Chirikova, Activatica has pivoted its focus to the impacts of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, emphasizing stories often suppressed or distorted by state propaganda.
The platform reports on individuals who refuse to remain silent amid escalating violence, covering issues like detentions, trials of political prisoners, and the experiences of civilians affected by war. Through a range of video formats for social media, including TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts, Activatica reaches an audience of 5 to 25 million users monthly, highlighting both Ukrainian citizens and the plight of those detained in occupied territories.
By showcasing the myriad forms of activism during turbulent times, Activatica endeavors to hold power accountable and amplify the voices of those resisting oppression, fostering a culture of solidarity amidst adversity.
