ActofKAA

ActofKAA is a student theatre troupe based at the Department of British and American Studies, Faculty of Arts, Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia. Founded in September 2011, the group gave its first public performance that December, opening the department’s Christmas festival. Encouraged by the response, its students and teachers continued to create theatrical events that bring the department community together.

The troupe usually prepares two theatre productions and gives two public performances each year. Its work is presented in English and welcomes audiences interested in theatre and the English language. ActofKAA also organizes KAA Festival, an evening event for students and faculty that begins with a theatre production and continues with live music from fellow students or guest performers.

The group sees theatre as a way to support learning, encourage extracurricular activity and build community. Its intended audience extends beyond current students and faculty to alumni, English teachers, translators, interpreters, international students and other English-language enthusiasts in Slovakia.
