Act Six is a leadership and scholarship program that aims to empower emerging urban and community leaders. By connecting local faith-based community affiliates with faith- and social justice-based colleges, Act Six equips these leaders with the skills and education they need to make a difference on campus and in their communities at home. The program offers full scholarships and comprehensive leadership training, providing students with the tools they need to create lasting impact.
Since its inception in 2002, Act Six has trained 1,211 scholars from seven cities and 180 cadres for 17 private, liberal arts colleges. Notably, 90% of these scholars come from low-income families or are first-generation college goers, yet an impressive 82% graduate within six years - 16 points higher than the overall college average. Act Six scholars make their mark both on campus and in their communities.
They lead and serve in various capacities on campus, initiating conversations, launching clubs, and influencing policy to foster inclusivity and equity.
