About Actuarial Academy of East Africa
Actuarial Academy is a brand dedicated to providing mentorship and support to actuarial trainees in the East African market. The academy aims to assist those who may not have access to actuarial resources through their universities or workplaces. The mentorship program pairs experienced professionals with trainees, with a commitment of 6 months.
The program offers a platform for trainees to have a sounding board for career and study decisions, gain exposure to the actuarial world, expand their professional networks, and learn from the experience of others. Mentoring sessions can be conducted virtually or in person, depending on the mentee and mentor's preferences. The academy encourages mentees to define their objectives and topics for discussion, such as navigating the workplace, career advice, and study advice.
Mentors are selected to ensure there are no conflicts of interest, with a requirement of at least 3 years' working experience in the actuarial profession
