ADALA, or Amor y Defensa A Los Animales, is a nonprofit animal welfare association in Zaragoza, Spain, dedicated to improving the lives of animals that have been mistreated or abandoned. Rather than operating its own shelter, the organisation relies on a network of foster homes, where animals are cared for until they are adopted. ADALA helps people find dogs, cats and exotic animals available for adoption, as well as animals in pre-adoption, and provides information about veterinary conditions including leishmaniosis, calicivirus, feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency.
People can support ADALA in several ways, even if they cannot foster or adopt. The association accepts donations through PayPal, Teaming and Bizum, including a Teaming option for giving one euro per month. Supporters can also donate items such as toys, beds and blankets through collaborating local businesses, contribute to collection boxes, or attend the organisation’s events. Through its adoption listings, community fundraising and foster network, ADALA connects animals in need with care and potential homes.
