Te Pātaka Toi Adam Art Gallery is a dynamic and research-led institution committed to generating and supporting the creation of new knowledge and critical discussion surrounding art. With a focus on interdisciplinary connections, the gallery produces a range of high-quality outputs, including curated exhibitions, engaging performances, insightful lectures, and thought-provoking publications. These outputs undergo rigorous quality assurance through formal peer review and the gallery's meticulous program and acquisition approval processes.

The gallery also takes great care in documenting all exhibitions, events, and matters related to the Victoria University of Wellington Art Collection, ensuring comprehensive records are maintained in their exhibition and collection archives. In collaboration with the Art History department, a joint New Zealand Art Archive is being developed as a valuable resource for students, staff, and visiting scholars. At Te Pātaka Toi Adam Art Gallery, the dedicated staff members are active researchers themselves, further enriching the gallery's vibrant intellectual environment.

While the gallery is closed for a summer break from 18th December 2021 to 17th January 2022, orders from the shop will resume processing from 17th January
