About Adaptive Riders Collective
Adaptive Riders Collective (ARC) is a Scotland-based organisation helping people with physical disabilities enjoy cycling and the outdoors. Its mission is to make nature more accessible, supporting riders to experience the freedom, wellbeing and connection that can come from exploring together. ARC brings adaptive cyclists into a welcoming community where people can learn, build confidence and share outdoor adventures.
The organisation offers weekly cycling sessions for riders to develop skills and connect with others, as well as inclusive weekend rides that explore new routes at a pace and in a way suited to the group. ARC also works with other organisations through consultancy, training and partnership support, drawing on the experience of adaptive riders to help create more inclusive cycling spaces. Its activities include community events and outdoor adventures on Scotlandβs trails.
ARC shares the stories and possibilities of adaptive cycling through its documentary, Three Wheel Drive (2023), which follows three riders on a Highland bothy trip and highlights the planning, teamwork and support involved in accessing remote terrain.
