ADAPT is an innovative initiative focused on enhancing the capacity of African institutions to combat antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and neglected tropical diseases (NTDs). Operating across seven sub-Saharan African countries including Uganda, Senegal, Ghana, Nigeria, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, and Sudan, ADAPT leverages a One Health approach to address complex health challenges that bridge human, animal, and environmental factors. By collaborating with esteemed academic and research institutions, ADAPT aims to develop sustainable strategies for disease control through a thorough understanding of biomedical and sociocultural dynamics.

The program emphasizes interventions that target helminthic infections and drug-resistant bacteria, pivotal to improving public health outcomes in the region with the world's highest AMR burden. ADAPT also works in partnership with organizations in Germany, including Leipzig University and the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment, to enhance research capabilities and foster collaborative networks. Through these efforts, ADAPT is committed to a healthier future for sub-Saharan Africa
