ADAR is a nonprofit home-care association serving people across Loire-Atlantique, France. Founded in 1973, it supports older adults, people with disabilities, and those made more vulnerable by illness, helping them remain at home with dignity and greater independence. Its services cover everyday assistance, including personal care and hygiene, household cleaning, meal preparation, shopping, and help with administrative tasks or medical appointments.
ADAR also provides support for family caregivers, daytime and overnight home care, hospital discharge assistance, and nursing care through its home nursing service. To encourage social connection, the association offers group workshops, outings, companionship, games, and creative activities. Its mandataire service provides another way to arrange home assistance.
ADAR coordinators can assess a person’s needs and develop a personalised support plan, with guidance on potential financial assistance. The association also brings together experienced, trained professionals known as doulas, who offer attentive support to people in particularly fragile situations. With 11 local branches, ADAR operates throughout the department and offers free quotations for its services
