Add a kezed!

Add a kezed! is a Hungarian-owned nonprofit company founded in 2006 by experts in alcohol, drug and tobacco addiction. Its original program took a comprehensive, community-based approach to preventing these three forms of substance dependence, bringing together health professionals, schools, families, workplaces and local organizations. From 2007, the initiative delivered nationwide events in ten counties, including professional conferences, youth prevention sessions, public health screenings and interactive community activities. It also trained health workers and school health visitors, and its school program reached 32 towns and 8,660 students.

Building on this experience, Add a kezed! now focuses on supporting primary care practices and medical professionals. Its work includes developing professional training and conferences, advising organizations, and preparing a health academy and practice-development program intended to help doctors strengthen their practices for the future. The organization also seeks to expand its professional and supporter network and share its accumulated experience. Its approach emphasizes long-term prevention, practical information and cooperation rather than short-lived campaigns or fear-based education.
