The Association for the Development of Education in Africa (ADEA) is a pan-African institution that serves as a forum for policy dialogue on education and training in Africa. It was established in 1988 to improve coordination among development agencies and has since evolved into a partnership between African ministries of education, training, and their technical and external partners. As a catalyst for educational reform, ADEA encourages exchanges between ministries of education and development agencies, pool ideas, experience, and knowledge, and foster regional collaborations.

ADEA is also involved in strengthening policy dialogue and enhancing institutional and technical capacities within Africa. Governed by a Steering Committee composed of African ministers of education and representatives of development organizations, ADEA promotes dialogue, coordination, and partnerships to address the challenges and opportunities in education in Africa. Through its various programs and events, such as the Biennales and Triennales, ADEA strives to promote critical knowledge, skills, and qualifications for Africa's sustainable development
