ADIC Vilarinho

ADIC (Associação de Defesa do Idoso e da Criança de Vilarinho) is a private social solidarity association serving children and older adults throughout the municipality of Lousã, Portugal. Founded in 1997 and registered as an IPSS, a Portuguese private social solidarity institution, in 1999, ADIC describes itself as an association of generations, focused on dignity, respect and well-being, and closely connected to the local community and institutional partners.

Its services include residential care for older people, with accommodation and nursing support; a day centre that helps older adults remain in their family and social environment; and home support with personalised assistance for people who cannot manage everyday activities independently. For children, ADIC runs a kindergarten supporting development from age three until entry into basic education. The association also provides social canteen meals, particularly for people experiencing financial hardship, and a social support office offering guidance and referrals to individuals and families facing disadvantage or risk of social exclusion.
