About AdilSoz
The International Foundation for Freedom of Speech Protection, also known as "Әділ сөз," is a registered legal entity with the status of a public foundation. Established on April 12, 1999, their main goal is to promote an open civil society by advocating for free, objective, and progressive journalism in everyday life in Kazakhstan. The foundation engages in various activities to achieve this mission, including systematic monitoring of violations of freedom of speech, linguistic analysis of disputed texts, publishing materials for journalists, providing legal assistance to journalists and media outlets, and participating in legislative initiatives.
They also organize training seminars on legal protection for journalists and ethics and standards of media activities. The foundation collaborates with numerous partners, including Soros-Kazakhstan Foundation, Open Society Foundation, US Agency for International Development (USAID), and the European Commission, among others. Through their work, they strive to protect and promote freedom of expression in Kazakhstan
