Adirondack Legacy Aircraft

Adirondack Legacy Aircraft LLC provides legacy aircraft rentals and flight-simulator training in Upstate New York, serving pilots who want to build flight time, pursue endorsements, or maintain instrument proficiency. Its featured aircraft, “Chippy,” is a 1947 Stinson 108-3 available for $150 per hour, wet, and based in Argyle, New York. Rentals require a checkout with an independently contracted flight instructor approved by the company. Adirondack Legacy Aircraft can also connect pilots with an instructor for tailwheel endorsement training, covering skills such as takeoffs, stalls, slips, wheel and three-point landings, and crosswind landings.

For instrument training, the company offers a Virtual Fly SOLO PRO G1, an FAA-approved Advanced Aviation Training Device based at Saratoga County Airport. Configured to represent a Cessna 182 with G1000 avionics, the simulator supports instrument-rating practice, approaches, holds, and instrument currency without requiring an instructor. Eligible simulator time may count toward certificate requirements under Part 61. The device can also be used for most, but not all, tasks in an Instrument Proficiency Check.
