About Akademie der Künste
The Akademie der Künste, located in Berlin, is one of Europe's oldest cultural institutions, embodying a vibrant international community of artists. With six distinct sections—visual arts, architecture, music, literature, performing arts, and film/media arts—its 433 members contribute to a rich tapestry of creative expression. The Akademie serves as both an exhibition and event venue, showcasing notable works, such as the upcoming Candida Höfer exhibition in honor of the Käthe-Kollwitz-Preis 2024, and the retrospective of architects Sauerbruch Hutton.
In addition to exhibitions, the Akademie offers guided tours of significant historical sites, including the homes of renowned writers Bertolt Brecht and Anna Seghers, as well as insights into its vast archive, one of the most extensive interdiscinplinary collections of 20th-century art. With a commitment to cultural dialogue and innovative programming, the Akademie der Künste positions itself at the forefront of contemporary art and thought, making it an essential destination for art lovers and scholars alike
