About Mourir dans la Dignité
ADMD, the Association pour le Droit de Mourir dans la Dignité, is a French association founded in 1980 with 75,000 members. It advocates for everyone in France to have a choice in the conditions of their end of life. The association informs the public about the rights of sick people and those nearing the end of life, and supports individuals and their loved ones as they navigate related decisions and procedures.
ADMD offers practical guidance through its listening service, legal and healthcare committees, and network of user representatives. Its resources include information on advance directives, trusted persons, medical rights, treatment decisions, palliative care, and relevant legislation in France and abroad. Members can also use the association’s digital archive to record and store their advance directives. Through local delegates, ADMD holds information sessions and organizes events across France, while its website provides guides, documents, podcasts, videos, and news. The association also invites people to join, donate, sign petitions, and support its work through a solidarity shop.
