ADn – Aquarium Design is a Portuguese company founded in 2006 by Luís Câncio and Ana Salgueiro. The brand specializes in creating custom aquariums that complement the architecture and interior design of residential and commercial spaces. Its name brings together the idea of an aquarium as a living system, represented by DNA, and the practice of aquarium design.

ADn provides aquarium design, installation and maintenance for freshwater and saltwater environments, including cold-water and tropical aquariums. Its freshwater work includes planted and community aquariums, as well as setups for African and American cichlids. Saltwater projects include tropical aquariums and systems for shellfish. The company also develops artistic installations, ponds, waterfalls and indoor or outdoor water features.

For large public aquariums, ADn offers acrylic polishing, life-support system installation and maintenance that can involve diving. The team works closely with architects, engineers, interior designers and other professionals to develop individual projects and solutions suited to each space and the client’s requirements.
